Valentin Fuster, MD

is Professor and Chief of the Division of Cardiology, the Director of Mount Sinai Heart and the Physician-in-Chief of The Mount Sinai Hospital. He is an internationally renowned clinician and researcher. He is former President of the American Heart Association and the only cardiologist to receive all four major research awards from the four major cardiovascular organizations. He is the lead editor of two major cardiovascular textbooks, Hurst’s The Heart and Atherothrombosis and Coronary Artery Disease.

is Professor of Medicine and Director of Clinical Cardiology Services. He was a principal researcher on the Stroke Prevention in Atrial Fibrillation (SPAF) clinical trials. He sits on national panels that issue clinical guidelines for management of patients with various cardiovascular diseases including atrial fibrillation and peripheral arterial disease.

is Professor and Chief of the Division of Liver Diseases (one of the few free-standing Hepatology divisions in the nation), as well as Dean for Therapeutic Discovery. He is former President of the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD).
