Sleep Research
David Rapoport, MD, is the Director of the Sleep Medicine Research Program. The goals of the program are to study sleep pathophysiology and study the effects that sleep and sleep disorders have on other organ systems, as well as to maximize the opportunities for training and support for young academic researchers in this area. Dr. Rapoport’s team includes several NIH funded investigators i.e. Indu Ayappa, PhD, Neomi Shah, MD, MPH, MS, Ankit Parekh, PhD, Vaishnavi Kundel, MD, MS, and Andrew Varga, MD to name a few. The sleep fellow will have numerous opportunities to collaborate with these researchers on various projects to contribute to the advancement of sleep medicine. We also offer an optional second year of fellowship through a Multidisciplinary NIH T32 Sleep Research Training grant for those interested in research
