Message from the Program Director
Dear Prospective Fellow:
On behalf of our faculty, I welcome you to the Mount Sinai Morningside-BronxCare Cardiovascular Disease Training Program of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. This brochure will acquaint you with our mission, faculty, clinical rotations, research, and other unique features of the cardiology fellowship training program.
The Mount Sinai Morningside-BronxCare Fellowship Program provides fellows with the skills required to develop a successful leadership career in both academic and clinical cardiology. Our rigorous and comprehensive curriculum, taught by internationally recognized and influential leaders in the field of cardiovascular disease, affords trainees with unparalleled clinical experiences through broad exposure to a diversity of learning environments. We strongly emphasize an individualized approach to training, and we work with each fellow to customize his/her schedule to support his/her career goals. Because of the large number of fellows across all of the Mount Sinai Morningside programs, fellows have great flexibility to create a schedule of rotations in the second and third years that match their clinical interests and long-term career goals, providing the opportunity to choose available rotations at any of our three participating hospitals (Mount Sinai Morningside, BronxCare Health System and Mount Sinai Hospital). Our aim is to recruit physicians with impeccable character, outstanding clinical knowledge, and true dedication to learning and teaching. Our faculty and fellows work closely together in strong mentored relationships that establish deep collegial bonds.
As your program director I am committed to ensuring that you receive an outstanding education in cardiovascular disease, and in fostering your growth so you become a superior clinical cardiologist and/or leader in the academic world of cardiology.
